Christina “Christy” Barlow, PA-C, is a valuable member of our team of providers at Dermatology Associates. She has been a practicing Physician Assistant since 2008 and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and background in surgical oncology where she helped manage difficult melanoma cases. In 2018 she transitioned to practice dermatology and has completed a post-graduate fellowship in Dermatology through the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She has extensive knowledge of general medical dermatology, surgical and procedural dermatology as well as is versed in many cosmetic dermatological services.

Dr. Bedi felt an immediate connection to Christy and knows you will too. Both in personality and in her methods of treating and interacting with patients she exemplifies what Dermatology Associates and Dr. Bedi stand for; treating patients as we would our family. In her own words, “Dermatological care is much more than ‘skin deep’. It can impact your physical health and comfort, as well as your self-esteem and quality of life.” She has a passion for diagnosing and treating acute and chronic diseases and disorders involving skin, hair and nails in both children and adults and strives to create a compassionate comfortable environment for each patient. In addition, she values providing education on medical conditions, treatment plans and skin cancer treatment, prevention and screening.

Christy’s excellence and personality shine in all of her interaction with patients and staff. She is trained in using dermoscopy to performs thorough routine skin exams and skin cancer screenings. She enjoys diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical conditions such as acne, psoriasis, eczema, hair loss, acute and chronic rashes, nail changes, excessive sweating, warts, scarring, rosacea, dandruff, ulcers and various hyperpigmentation/hypopigmentation skin disorders. She is very experienced in dermatological procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, intralesional injections, excisions, extractions, electrodessication and sclerotherapy. Her background in surgery is key in understanding wound healing and difficult surgical cases.

Christy is originally a Wisconsin native, but loves the ocean, palm trees and any activity outdoors, especially beach volleyball. She used to teach dance classes and kickboxing and now enjoys taking the classes to join in the fun. She values her family and friends beyond words, loves to travel the world and learn about other cultures, doing volunteer work and ultimately, hopes to bring a smile to those around her.
